"Cause Tramps Like Us, Baby We Born To Run"

The all famous Bruce Springsteen quote, from his chart topper, "Born To Run". Maybe he sparks the american inside us, but something about "the boss" makes us all love him. Bruce's insperation comes from his Jersey Shore upbringing, his liberal beliefs, and his Christian roots. At 60 years of age, Bruce still tours regularly with his "E Street Band".
Quite recently i discovered "the boss'" music, and since, i havent been able to stop listening. What isnt enticing about a 60 year old man, who has been making music for over 40 years? Springsteen almost always plays lead guitar in his songs, and quite often tries his hand at the harmonica, and obviously he sings in all of his songs.
Bruce grew up in New Jersey with his mother adele, and his father douglas. Since then he has been married twice, once to Julianne Phillips in 1985, and then again to Patti Scialfa in 1988, with whom he had his three children. Bruce once admitted that his greatest fear was his inability to impress his "teenage children". But all in all Bruce's songs emulate his optimistic attitude, and his trust in the people of the world.
Now comes the analytical part to this assaignment, in which i will analyze Bruce, and furtheremore, how his surroundings and beliefs have impacted his music. First and foremost, i cannot believe that at 60 years of age, he is still touring. From what i have heard of him, he is made out to be an "all american" musician, but how "all american" is cheating on your wife? That came as a big shocker to me, but regardless of his poor decisions, he will forever be the ideal american musician, hell, there is even a course about him at NYU.
Whether you like him or not, you have to admit that Bruce Springsteen has changed the way we view and analyze music forever. His songs will forever be legendary, and he himself will forever be an icon of american music. I believe that even in another 10 years when bruce is 70 years old, he will be touring with the same energy and optimism as he did 40 years ago.
